Closer to Nature: An attitude
It seems impossible to go anywhere and not hear about how companies are striving to protect the environment and be more green and ecoconscious. I keep reading about what the environmental efforts are that Arla is implementing at the dairies such as different packaging, energy saving, etc. These are nice, but I want to help!!

Here are some things I am going to do in my daily life to ensure I am "closer to nature".
- Take my bike to work most days and only use the bus if it is raining REALLY hard.
- Use a coffee cup for my daily cups instead of a Styrofoam cup
- Take reusable bags to the store. (I buy them a lot...bad, Amber, bad!!)
- Support local companies, and buy less imported items

What else can I do? What else are you doing?

Kagedag
I know my foodie readers have been missing my blog entries on my thoughts on danish culture, food trends, etc. Guess what, she's back!

I have to admit, I am not very Danish. When I bake a cake, I ALWAYS use a mix. I have tried and failed many times to bake a cake from scratch because I always seem to measure things wrong, or try to do math with my measuring cups (1/3 cup + 1/3 = 2/3, and so I need 4 of these to equal half the amount.....). When I admitted to my friends my lack of baking skills, we decided to have a kagedag to help me out. 8 girlfriends came over last night, and each brought a cake. We all then helped me bake my first cake NOT from a mix. I decided to make Pumpkin Cake and used the "Pioneer Woman's" recipe. I love her blog because she puts step by step pictures.

The outcome: SUCCESS!!! I have to make this Arla related so I will tell you I used ½ cup of Kærgarden for the butter and Arla "piskeflode" to make the whip cream.

Today I have a "sukkertømmermænd" so I brought the leftovers to work. Want a piece? Come visit around kl 14 today!

Om Blogs
Blog er en forkortelse af weblog. En blog består som regel af kortere indlæg, som præsenteres kronologisk, så det nyeste står øverst.
